Privacy Policy

This policy explains how MoodE handles personal information in the mobile app, website, and support channels. MoodE is the product and developer name. Contact us at privacy@goodmoodi.com.

Scope and who is responsible

This policy applies to MoodE services we operate. It does not govern independent services such as your device operating system or app store. MoodE is responsible for the processing described here.

Account and profile information

We may process your email address, password hash, display name, verification state, authentication provider identifiers, account timestamps, and an optional profile image. Google sign-in may involve Google and Firebase authentication services.

Mood and journal information

When you create an entry, we may process the mood you choose, your 1 to 10 score, note text, tags, timestamps, AI score, and generated reflection. Signed-in entries are synchronized with the MoodE backend so they can be associated with your account.

Device permissions

MoodE may request microphone and speech-recognition access for voice input, photo-library access for a profile image, and notification access for reminders. Voice recognition may be processed by services provided by your device or operating-system provider. A permission does not mean MoodE continuously accesses that data.

Technical and support information

Our servers may process network information such as IP address, request time, endpoint, and security events needed to deliver and protect the service. If you contact us, we process your email address and the information you include in the request.

Website preferences

The website may store your theme choice in local storage and a language preference cookie so it can remember how you want the site displayed. We do not currently use advertising or analytics cookies on this website.

How we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts, synchronize entries, provide app features, generate requested AI reflections, deliver reminders and verification messages, respond to support, prevent abuse, improve reliability, and comply with law. We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising.

AI processing

When you request an AI reflection, the note text you submit may be sent through MoodE servers to DeepSeek for processing. Pattern summaries may use aggregated mood statistics. AI output can be inaccurate and is not medical advice. Do not include information you do not want processed by an AI provider.

Service providers and disclosures

We use providers for infrastructure and specific functions, including Google and Firebase for authentication, DeepSeek for AI processing, Tencent Cloud for object storage and messaging where configured, email delivery providers, and Apple or Google for app distribution and purchases. They process information under their own terms and our applicable arrangements. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect users and the service.

Legal bases and international processing

Where a legal basis is required, processing may be necessary to provide the service you request, based on your consent for optional permissions or features, necessary for our legitimate interests in security and reliability, or required by law. Providers may process information in countries other than yours, subject to safeguards required by applicable law.

Retention

Account and synchronized journal information is generally kept while your account remains active. Verified deletion requests are targeted for completion within 30 days. We do not set an additional retention period for journal entries after verified deletion. Limited security, transaction, or legal records may be retained only where reasonably necessary or required by law.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including authenticated API access and restricted service credentials. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability, and may withdraw consent for optional processing. MoodE does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Use the in-app controls or contact privacy@goodmoodi.com. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

Account deletion

Signed-in users can choose Delete account in Settings. Users without access to the app can use our Account deletion page or email privacy@goodmoodi.com. Because linked authentication and stored profile images can involve separate providers, contact us if you want confirmation that those linked records have also been removed.

Children

MoodE is not directed to children under 16 or the minimum age required to consent to data processing in their region. If you believe a child provided information without valid permission, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy to reflect product, provider, or legal changes. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when required. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to privacy@goodmoodi.com.
